What is a website hit?
A website hit is when someone visits your website and
the action records the ip address talking to the ip address
of your website. The problem is that this action can be performed
by a bot or robot.
This
is what some people do online. They sell traffic and promise
thousands of hits for a few dollars. Then, then send you
thousands of bot hits.
Pointless really isn't it?
I
don't recall ever reading anywhere that a bot had purchased
a product.
These types of hits are really pointless. They are
simply wasting your bandwidth. You need humans coming to your
website and not just any humans.
Humans
that are ready to buy your product. This means they have already
searched around the internet and have found your product.
They know what is out there, and you have presented your product
so well that they simply buy yours because it answers their
questions.
So,
if you need more web site hits - think carefully about
the type of website hit you are targeting and put your efforts
in the right direction.
Don't
simply target anything. Think strategically about what
your customer is, where they would be hanging out and what
questions they need answers for.
